The BMI Resource Recovery Group is an owner of various properties located throughout Queensland.
The first project, out of a series of upcoming works, which Civcorp completed for the BMI Group was the design and construction of a new internal roadway designed for fully laden semi-trailers transporting shipping containers.
To deliver this project Civcorp engaged a local Engineering firm, CR Consulting to undertake the design and certification of the new works.
An outcome from our initial site inspection involved further investigation into an existing batter parallel to the proposed roadway. In order to address this Civcorp engaged a Geotechnical Engineer who provided further advice and design of batter treatment options, eventually placed rock was selected.
An added complexity to these works also involved obtaining approval of the design and construction works from Queensland Rail (QR) due to the work are being located on QR Leasehold property. Using its vast knowledge and previous experiences working with QR Civcorp was able to successfully engage with obtain approval from QR for the works.
The final design was completed swiftly, and following a site Prestart Meeting with QR, construction works commenced and were completed within just a few days.
